umm not to burst your bubble, but most baseball players are coming from latin countries nowadays. so its logical that they should whoop our asses. but the basketball fiasco last summer now that was a travesty. theres no reason we shouldve lost, we were all-stars and we lost to crappy teams. our baseball team was not made of all-stars i bet.

what I don't understand is why everyone is going through qualifiers. You'd think winning the gold last time would give us a bye or something. Instead the US lost one game, their pitchers have a 0.56 ERA and they're out, while the Mexicans got their first win against the US and were only allowed to play because the Bahamas didn't show up. It's kinda ridiculous that it was one and done.

and here's a question for those who might know: can pros compete? I'm pretty sure that Clemens could only compete because he was going to retire, but the Twin's 1st baseman and Ben Sheets were on the team during the last Olympics when I'm pretty sure at least Mienkewicz (extremely bad spelling I'm sure) was in the pros at that point.
