It's that time of year again, folks.
Last year was a success, mostly because of the generosity of Gwen and Aggie's Family, and I want this year to be bigger and better.
Here's the deal for those of you that don't remember or are new to the board. For the last few years, my mother has dressed as Santa and taken polaroids with the children in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Einstein Hospital up in the Bronx. Last year she wanted to add a little something, so I turned to you guys and we collected about 50 stuffed animals. She not only had enough for the NICU, she also was able to hit some of the kids in the Children's ward. For the parents of the kids in the NICU this is special because besides it being hard enough having your child in the hospital for the holidays, for some of them this will be the only holiday they get to spend with their child and it's nice to be able to give them some happy memories.
What we are looking for are Beenie Baby-type stuffed animals. Anything larger would be too big to put in the cribs with all of the equipment, and any regular toys just are too advanced for them.
For anyone who wants to contribute, I will be collecting at all of the remaining Brother Joe Bar 9 nights between now and Christmas, at the Christmas Party at Dave and Busters, and if anyone can't make it to any of that I'd be willing to give you my address if you would like to mail them.
And if anyone knows how to turn my little animation up there into an acceptable ad banner it would be appreciated.
