I drive from Long Island to the frigging Gothels bridge everyday, and I just love the Belt. I mean how much better can it get? Knapp st, Rockaway, penn, Erskine, the airport, the water. I hardly even get slowed up by that construction on Ocean Pkwy! That Farmers Blvd exit/ Airport traffic can be a bitch after 3, but it opens up after 10 minutes or so.
On the otherhand, have you even tried to get across the Staten Island Expressway eastbound after like, 6 am?!?!?!Those fuckers look like their hurting waiting from Richmond Ave all the way to the fucking bridge. When I leave in the pm its straight to the side streets for me.
DISCUSS.

I tried this new kind of jelly doughnut that had the jelly part kinda sticking out of the middle so you could see what flavor of jelly is inside. I had strawberry.

Thats ironic ADF! I had the same thing but only at a Krispy Kreme inside FUCKING INSIDE a Quik Check this morning! The jelly part was sticking out of the otherwise completely glazed donut (that DIDN'T have a hole!!) was red so I thought it would be either strawberry or raspberry. Turns out (get this) that the label in front of the donut said Glazed Raspberry. I also had a large coffee, a mini Bacon, Egg & Cheese bread and a regular Glazed donut.

Now I have a major craving for Krispy Kremes!!!
I love the Belt Pkwy too, it's a much easier ride home for me to Long Island than the BQE is. It takes me a little out of the way, but it's worth it and I actually make better time.

The Belt is great. I live in Rockaway and to my girlfriends house is 15 by car on the belt parkway. Before I had a car it was 1 1/2 hours by bus.
The belt always has traffic but it still rocks.
Thanks to Reefdwella for the great Sig Pic.

I get from Flatbush to the Staten Island Expressway in 15 minutes. The Expressway is a nightmare, any time of day. Too much local and interborough and inter-state traffic for one piece of shit Island.
See Ya!

Wow. Sounds like the Belt has changed a lot in the last few years. I gave up using it altogether (unless absolutely essential to my destination) about five or six years ago beacuse it had just become a nightmare. The Belt to me was synonymous with 24/7 traffic problems, esp. in Brooklyn and around the airport.
Has it improved that much, or do you people all just have a high tolerance for traffic pain?
(And yes, the SIE is a disaster as well. Too bad they never built a tunnel direct from Jersey to Brooklyn...)

I agree. When I lived on LI and went to school in Delaware I knew I would sit in traffic on the Belt. and most of the time it was from the Verezzano to the Southern State the whole way. I hated that road. I live in NJ now and when I come to visit LI, I deal with that other wonder, Cross Bronx Expressway, and its almost as bad as I remember the Belt being. i guess i have to go take a ride on the Belt Parkway now.
