How Rugby was invented.

Many, many years ago, in England, a soccer game was going on. Not a professional one, just a few blokes got together and had a game. One of the spectators ran onto the pitch and picked up the ball. He ran towards one of the goals, bowling over anyone who attempted to stop him. When he reached the goal, he knocked the keeper down and planted the ball over the goal line. Breathless, and brimming with glory, he asked the soccer players "Was that a goal?"

"No, " they replied en masse, "but it was a damn good try!"

The rest is history.

I watched the championship game at 4AM this morning. It's great seeing the players receiving their medals while they're dripping with blood. Good Stuff!

The major difference between the two is scoring. Rugby scoring is a bit like American football, while Aussie Rules scores by kicking through goal posts (6 point for the inner posts, 1 point for the outer). Also, in Australian Rules you might see something like this:

I love to watch hurling. It is the ultimate man's sport. I watch the all Ireland competions every year(Go Limerick!)
