I retract my statement. A Rod would come o the mets and suck because thats what happens to players who come to the Mets.

As for Mo, let him come back and fail. No one would take him even if we paid them too. Sheesh, being a Mets fan is hard sometimes...all the time...

Don't panic.
It doesn't mean much.
Mo can't officially retire, because then he wouldn't get paid for 2004.
And, since he's not retiring, he HAS to at least show up for spring training if the Mets expect to get reimbursed from the insurance company. If he didn't show, they'd have to declare him in breach of contract and then there'd be lawsuits and such... ugly.
He shows, gets put on the DL, gets his $15 mil, the Mets get the insurance and everyone's happy.

This is a non-issue.

im very happy with jose reyes, he will be a premier short stop in years to come. although if a-rod would take over 3rd base, and move wiggy to 2nd (his natural position) i would be very very happy.
