you may not believe me but Craig Frost who played with Grand Funk played a mean organ and keyboard...
there's a solo in Black Licorice from the 'Caught In The Act' album that ranks up there with anything else i've heard...
he's also played with Bob Seger...

Garth Hudson (The Band)
I had the pleasure of meeting Garth when he played with Prof. Louie and The Crowmatrix at the now closed Tobacco Road in NYC. He looked about 80 but man that guy can still tear it up. He looked like a mad scientist on stage diggin into the keys.
Greg Allman plays the Hammond like none other. And Chuck Leavell is always popping up at concerts making the experience all the more enjoyable.
But one of the funkiest I ever saw was Bernie Worrell from the 'ol Funkadelic Parliment. That man was crazy on the keys.

I've always loved Keith Emerson. Heavy Metal keyboards! His stage antics were a trip too!
All of YES key guys were/are great, but my fave was Patrick Moraz. He played on 1 album, "Relayer", but was just nuts! He went on to the Moody Blues, but I never got into them.
I havn't listened to enough Deep Purple to make an honest judgement.
Tony Banks of Genesis is very good as well. More melodic.
Geddy Lee's done some nice stuff on Rush's '80's stuff.
I also can't forget Pete Townshend and Roger Waters, who figured out how to use those big VCS3 & ARP synthesizers. The results being 2 of the biggest rock albums of the '70's, "Who's Next" and "Dark Side Of The Moon"
I've read that Stevie Wonder was an early user of the VCS3 as well, but again, haven't heard enough to comment.
Take it easy Clarky

I worked him into the bumper music, with the Spencer Davis Group. At least for one day.
