Recently i found a program on this computer that i can make a website with, so i started to put together a few things, and now i'm sitting here with just about a fully done website. Now, the question i'm wondering is this: what do i have to do to actually get it up on the internet; where do i have to go and how much do i have to pay for it?
i realize that this is common knowledge to most if not all of you around here, this is why i ask.

You need a FTP program to upload your website to the internet. One of my favorites is WS FTP (http://www.ipswitch.com/products/file-transfer.html), you can also find more on Tucows (http://www.tucows.com/ftp95_default.html) website. I also used to use a program called Cute FTP which was pretty good as well.
If you use a free web hosting service such as Geocities (http://geocities.yahoo.com/) they also have web-based applications to help you upload the website instead of using FTP.

there's a site I found recently called 1and1.com that you may want to look into. 3 years free hosting and you can have you own domain name for $6.

You should check with your ISP, sometime they give you free space to host the site. If you have a cable modem or DSL, you most almost certainly have free space. Geocities is good, but they have annoying adds on every page.
