I know people are thinking UConn, Kansas, Duke, and Syracuse....here are my thoughts.
Uconn- Gotta like thier chances...have a solid team and seem to have some newcomers that can contribute...My only knock is that preseason #1's seem to have a curse
Kansas- Gotta be the most overrated team in college right now. You don't lose two cornerstones like Collison(big man) and Heinrich(floor general) and pick up right where you left off....lets not forget they weren't ranked all that high last year and were a surprise to make it to the finals....throw in the loss of Roy Williams and i'll take a pass
Duke- lose Dahntay Jones and replace him with a highly touted freshman. Still a great team with JJ Reddick bombing away from 3. Never count them out but since I am going with UNC, thier conf. rival, I gotta take a pass here too.
Syracuse- I don't get it. They aren't gonna do what they did last year. Carmello Anthony is gone and so are thier chances of taking home B2B championships. He has turned around the Denver Nuggets....That's how good he is. They got lucky to win the last game due to Kansas's innept free throw shooting and they bombed 3's like never before...won't happen again. Good luck to Warrick when teams know they have to look for him first rather than an afterthought to Anthony like last year. Early exit from the tourney.
UNC- why I think they'll win: Best starting five in college basketball, no question. Bench leaves a little to be desired but I liked what I saw the other night and think they'll be fine by the end of the year. Coach Roy Williams and his awesome relationship with Dean Smith has already earned the respect of this team. Barring any injuries this is my choice to take it all home.
