Cleaning Suede

I have a beautiful suede jacket that I bought for the winter. Unfortunately, I spilled nacho cheese on it last night at the movies when I was trying to situate myself in the seat. Does anyone know how I can get the cheese sauce stain off of my jacket?

Take it to a dry cleaner that speializes in leather, prepare to spend a lot of money, but in all honesty you're probably fucked if you expet to get it completely out, assuming it was even remotely greasy. Stains are a bitch to get out of garment weight suede.

You could try waiting for it to dry and brushing it off with a brush and then hitting it with a suede brush. You might try dabbing it with some water, but it might affect the leather. Test on a hidden area first.

Don't bother with using suede cleaners you can buy at the stores. They're ok for footwear where you don't mind if it gets discolored a bit, but they will change the color (make it darker) of your leather. Unless it was black suede, in which case you might give it at try, but test it on an inconspicuous part of the jacket first, to make sure that it doesn't fuck up the nap of your coat/its color also, although a suede brush can help with the nap issue.

This was bound to happen. You wore that jacket in a dark theater and ordered nachos?!?!?!?!?!?! It was only a matter of time until it was completely ruined. When I went back to read your post again (to make sure I had the info correct) I was even more baffled when I seen the frizzy fur at the end of your jacket sleeves.

What were you thinking when you decided to eat nachos in a dark theater with a suede jacket with frizzy fur sleeve ends? When you would go for a chip the fur would have been stained as well.

Steels-- you actually made me laugh my ass off. Actually, I had laid my jacket down on my chair and went to the concession stand to get my nachos and a drink. Upon returning, I tried to hold the food and move my jacket out of the way, and that is when the nachos tipped over and spilled on the jacket.

I live directly across the river from NYC and it rained all night by me so I took a look at your profile to see where you were from, Long Island.
