With a win tonight, the Jets find themselves within stiking distance of the Broncos. 2 games behind with 4 to play. So I got to thinking, I wonder who would win that tie-breaker

The Jets and Dolphins can both make it. I know the deal with the fish, if were tied and beat them last week, it goes the division record i believe. Im not sure how it would turn out against the bronchos though

Just got back from the swamp, IF (GIANT IF) the Jets win out, they have a great chance because the conference record would be 9-3.
I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker
NFL standings (http://www.nfl.com/standings)
Tie Breakers (http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakers)
Looks like conferance record and then strength of victory if still tied.

If the Jets and any team outside their division are tied for a wild-card spot, this happens
2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.
Two Clubs
1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
4. Strength of victory.
5. Strength of schedule.
6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best net points in conference games.
9. Best net points in all games.
10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
11. Coin toss.
If 3 teams are tied, this happens
1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in conference games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss

If the Jets win out and the fish go 1-3, the Jets will get in because of 9-3 conference record.

Sickening. According to my terrible math its still possible to catch Denver and miami. If Miami losses every game left theyll finish 8-8 and the same for Denver. If the Jes win the rest, theyll be 8-8 too.

I'm a Jet fan and kind of relieved that they lost this one. It forces Herm to get rid of that load Cottrell and lights a fire under Herm's ass for next season. No more rest for the vets during preseason Herm. You are one more slow start from unemployment. While your at it get some help with clock management. P.S. Forget all this reciever bullshit and get yourself a linebacker with speed that can hit somebody. Nobody is afraid to run against the Jets because they aren't going to get popped.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.
