i don't get it? when Oklahoma got crushed and LSU and USC kicked butt the first thought that came to my mind was USC 1/LSU 2/ OK 3. it didn't matter what happened in the past, it was based on their current positions and the outcome of this weekends games.

I did hear that a computer is making some decisions, is this true?

USC was ahead of LSU in strength of schedule by a very slim margin. Both Hawaii and Notre Dame were opponents of USC. When they both lost USC's strength of schedule dropped enough so that LSU overtook them overall on the final day.

OU's strength of schedule was greater than both and they had such a huge BCS point lead that even with the added point for a loss it would have taken a drop in the polls to 4 or lower for either USC or LSU to catch up.

BTW, margin of victory/defeat isn't calculated in the BCS anymore because everyone was whining about people running up the score in the beginning. It was as if OU lost by 1 and the other two won by 1.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I would love to see the Trojans lose to Michigan - especially since my Oregon Ducks beat the Wolverines. However, I'd also like to see the Pac 10 get a little respect. So I guess I'm backing USC.

i don't know my man. i think USC will be looking to kick some ass HOWEVER Michigan is no slouch(they kicked Ohio States ass when they were #1 or 2)

I think it will be a close game as well as the LSU/OK game so it will probably wind up LSU 1/USC 2/OK 3 at the end...

USC can thank Tommy Tuberville and HIS 5 losses for screwing up their "strength of schedule" rating.

Auburn SHOULD have been their toughest non-conference game, and WAS ranked in the pre-season top 10 (sporting news and the NY Times had them #1, many had them in their top 5), and USC DID put the wood to the THEN #6 ranked team in the opening game of the season (23 - 0) on the road...

...but AU finishing with 5 losses made that win meaningless.

Although I didn't see any of these games live, I watched AU play both USC and LSU, and saw a lot of OU this year, and I have to say that I don't care what happened in the Big XII championship game... I wouldn't bet against Bob Stoops and this OU team.

And as much as I am NOT a USC fan... I do hope they crush Michigan, keep the #1 AP ranking and split-championship, and throw a huge greasy monkey wrench into the goddammed B(c)S.

Playoff NOW dammit!
