worked fine for me...saved my butt when my 12/05 files were incomplete.

Agent newsreader does an AWESOME job putting together the files,
but sometimes one file will show as split in two.

as in: ****4of4.mp3.par1

Agent doesn't seem to merge the two together.

any suggestions?

Those are .par files, smaller versions of .rar files that you can use in case the rar's are messed up. I use a program called SmartPAR found at http://www.slyck.com/smartpar.php

BTW, I find that XNews is a much better newsgroup reader for binaries, but that's just me.

I use AOL, so I think it's this problem that may have kept me from newsgroups. How do I get into them? Do I need a special program?

I have been using a program called Grabit. It automatically combines binaries into their original files. It also converts yEnc files. Once I discovered binaries, my DSL connection became truly worthwhile. R&F, music, movies, software....

Who the hell needs kazaa anymore???

only problem with roadrunner is that they are starting to block files from being complete but still able to get some material, and just few days ago the verizon dsl just shut the group down, arghhhh

Check out this tutorial (http://www.slyck.com/ng.php). Lots of good stuff can be found on usenet. Only time I've missed the boys was when my internet connection went out for 3 weeks.
