This really grossed me out. My friend is a Russian immigrant and she told me that her Mom used to take the Urine from her little sister and use it to douche. This is the most shocking and disgusting thing I have ever heard of. Is there ANY possible reason to douche with Urine, ESPECIALLY someone else's? Is this common in other countries? Is it a poor thing? Is it stupidity? smart? WTF?????












Or is it a common, stupid thing that smart people do in poor countries?

I can't think of anything particularly wrong with it, in terms of being unhealthy or anything, off hand. Urine's sterile. Maybe the water that they had was parasite/bacteria infested in which case it would be easier to use urine rather than boil water to douche with. Why she douched in the first place I'm not sure. THAT is questionable.

Wow! I have a whole new outlook on Urine now. I don't think of this girl's Mom as a dirty slob anymore. I used to think Urine was "dirty" and something you wanted AWAY from you. Now I've learned that Urine is clean, something to be kept near & dear. Who Knew?
