And Used albums don't count. I
think the last new vinyl album
I bought was Soul Asylum's
"And the Horse They Rode in
On" in 1990. It was pressed on
blue vinyl.

I was such a CD hold out for
the longest time. Years ago,
I remember over hearing 2 guys
talking about the merits of
vinyls albums: "CDs suck! I
mean, have you ever tried
rolling a joint on a CD cover?
It's impossible!"

Now this is a tough one. You're gonna make me go down the basement and look at all my vinyl, ain'tcha Alice? Well, alright, here goes nothing.

Know what? I'm totally shocked! Not one album past 1983. I would have sworn I was buying vinyl until about '87 or '88.

I was a CD holdout, too, but I became a big cassette buyer in the early eighties because I bought my first car. At least I knew enough to stay away from those damned 8-tracks!

Well, thanks for the trip down memory lane, Alice, and welcome aboard!

Thanks gvac!

(I had Styx Paradixe Theatre
and The Police's Zenyatta
Mondatta and Outlandos D'amour
on 8-track, as well as some
Hall and Oates and Shaun Cassidy!)

i prefer vinyl over compact discs.

the last vinyl album i bought was a 12" by a band from portland called "glas candy and the shattered theatre".

i value my vinyl collection more than i value my cd collection. i also prefer cassettes over compact discs.

Kisses and Hugs! Positive youth 1994! My buddy who has a store just got some reissues of this and he recommended it.

Did you know that overseas vinyl is still HUGE? Why not here? I mean you can still get new albums pressed on vinyl in many other countries. Why has there been such a trampling of vinyl in the commercial music industry? Independent artists still press them. Me personally, I think if you got a good turntable, the vinyl sounds as good if not BETTER than the CD.

I've never owned a vinyl record.
My sister used to have a bunch. but I wasn't big into music as a kid. By the time i started to discover music, Tapes were the most affordable and CD's were the new craze

The above is certainly true if the circumstances are right however the SACD (next gen CD) is designed to overcome the audio limitations of current Audio CD.

I bought a George Carlin album on vinyl about 2 years ago for $2. It was from the 70's and freakin hysterical!

A few years back I got a brand new, never opened copy of Scorpions 'Tokyo Tapes' double live album. It was an original from around 1977. I picked it up at a used record/music shop on the Island. I still have three turntables and use them often since my wife and I own about 300 albums. <P>

I bought was Soul Asylum's
"And the Horse They Rode in
On" in 1990. It was pressed on
blue vinyl.
Their last great album. I talked to Skidmark about this album last night...cause they have the Grave Dancer's Platinum Disc on the wall at the Hard Rock...Soul Asylum back in the day was the greatest live band.

Fuzzy you probably know this, but just in case, Soul Asylum's And the Horse...had a different cover depending on whether it was cd, vinyl or tape. The Horse was different on each one...one was a real horse..one was a wooden horse traffic divider thingy, and the other was a pommel horse...

Since I am always chancing myself when buying records for different presses and stuff, I picked up another copy of Strike Anywhere's AMAZING Change Is A Sound and it was on GREEN vinyl unlike my other one which was on WHITE. This band rules!
