Well, I have no clue. It would make sense for them to phase out the regular cable and channel their resources to the future.
But, um, I cannot think of one reason why anyone would NOT want the digital package. It's like 5 bucks more a month for tons more channels, including like 10 HBOs.

Agreed.
Hey does anyone else remember when the idea behind Cable Tv was that, since you were Paying for TV [a thought no one would have imagined say, back in 1960] you Would not have F@#&ING COMMERCIALS on the 'non-network' channels!!!
American Movie Classics is one example. It used to be Wonderful. No Commercials. One movie into another, just introduced by that host guy. Now ruined.

There are 12 televisions in my home. To go digital we would need 12 digital conversion boxes. Not good concerning people in similiar situations.

I don't mean to bash you here, but I hope you can enjoy the irony in that.
BTW, I think, in Cablevision's case, the rental fee for the digital boxes are the same as the standard ones.

Yes, I have eight T.V.'s, and do not want to go digital. But here is the real reason they are making it less atractive to stay with analog and not go digital, scam per view. Everyone with an "illegal" box is left holding there junk.

They methodically started taking away channels about 2 years ago and about 8 months ago they hit us with taking away all the HBO's. They are clearly making it "less attractive". They say you NEED the digital box to receive HBO but it was only a case of scrapping the analog signal and only carrying a digital one. I suppose it's good business but a pain for people that have the analog signal split all around the house. I'm thinking about investing in a converter when MSNBC starts to air Jim Cramer's "Real Money" but that won't be till after the new year so we'll see.
Oh and I didn't see the irony, enlighten me please.

You can afford to have 12 TVs in your house, so why can't you afford digital cable?

While on the subject who is a "Cablevision" subscriber and has a friend or family member with "Time Warner" cable?
I for one GREW UP with "Time Warner" cable and it is ridiculous how much more you get for the same money with them. "Cable Vision" is a rip off. We would have switched to "Direct TV" years ago if it didn't mean we had to individually "hook-up" every single TV in the house.

My cable box is funny. It does not have ppv anymore. BUT channel 30 magically becomes PPV whenever A WWE PPV is on. And it turns right off after the repeat at 1 or 2. Very Weird. I Would check all your channels when wwe ppv is on.

I agree that Cablevision that their dumbass owners are the devil.
However, digital cable is the future. Actually, digital everything is the future. So, get on the train or get off the tracks.
