#1-its Fassel, not Fossil, he hasnt dies yet
#2- I dont know what to say. 3 weeks ago, i woulda said it wasnt all on him. alot of injuries, alot of questionable GM moves, alot of things. But even with all that, Fassel had them playing hard.
Since then, however, ive seen signs that Fassel was losing the team, and even though it was backups, wasnt getting them to play their hardest for him either.
He is a good coach, and i wish him well somewhere else. but i think its just time for a change. Fassel did things for this team he was never supposed to be able to, and i thank him for that. but he does need to go.
a few points of note, one on where fassel should go. you guys will call me crazy, but he would be a great fit, and no he will not go there, with the Jets. as either offensive coordinator, but better as QB coach. fassel did great things with elway, he could do similar with Chad, who looks alot like Elway already.
As far as the Giants next coach, its prob gonna be Tom Coughlin. Ehh, he is a good, tough coach who will help in the next couple years but ultimately wear out his welcome like he did everywhere else. disaplinarians usually do, and i dont want a coach who we will have to replace in 3 seasons.
I want, and bear with me here, Jim Mora. partly for his entertainment value in post game press conferences, but he was a good coach. he cares, and the players respect a guy who holds everyone equal, like he did with peyton manning.

I have to agree with you, snoogs. A LOT of injuries really set the team back, mainly in the offesive line and the secondary. The players though seemed to be the main reason for their failures. Coaches dont fumble, miss assignments, or drop passes. But I do agree that a change needs to be made, unfortunately if the next coach can go all the way, Fassell probably wont get any credit. He's really buit a great team (on paper) in a place where he shouldn't have been able to. And he has been able to retain most of the talent that he's brought in. Except of course for everyone on the line. Ahhh well, he'll land on his feet.

In theory, except look how much credit is NOW goin to Tony Dungy for what he did leading to Gruden's first year success. Gruden won it with basically Dungy's D and players, and now that he isnt doin good, people realize just what dungy did for them.
i think ultimately, fassel will be a head coach again, but he would be better off stayin as a coordinator or if he does coach, get coordinators so you can focus more.

Alot of mistakes were made, players, coaches, management all fucked things up. too bad we cant replace them all

i think he would be a great fit in oakland. but i have another question for giant fans? who and what position do u draft? my suggestion, RB and the offensive line. both positions need improvement. either sign a good free agent or draft. the giants cant go deep into the playoffs with tiki, and i have my doubts about kerry collins as well.

they cant draft offensive line like you think. we need a leader, all we have, even healthy, is young inexpirienced guys. you can get decent lineman later, so they should also get a FA good lineman to anchor it.
we wont get a RB, even though we should. if we do, itll be a trade of FA.
they are gonna draft for depth. prob a WR, maybe QB since palmer cant cut it, some D line and secondary.
any big move they make will be free agency, and they will build depth and a future through the draft.

ask me, SIGN MIKE MCMAHON. he is a FA, and did pretty damn well for detroit before harrington came in. he went to rutgers and has speed to make a play when the protection breaks down. bring him home, youll have him for years and he'll be pretty good. then draft and sign accordingly, which they never do

I dont like it. i know we need a change, and fassel stayin is not a great idea, but it still sucks to watch him go. especially now being able to tell how much he actually does care about this organization. i just prey that we dont get some dick in here who flops and then you hear everyone sayin fassel shoulda stayed.

If you ask me id try to keep him as the offensive coordinator. if thats all he had to do, he would be pretty damn good

Coaching in Nebraska is almost the same as coaching pro. He'll probably have better players on his team there then he does now.
