View Full Version : Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow Trailer (http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/skycaptainandtheworldoftomorrow/)
I like the retro look of this film, but the plot and dialogue, at least judging from the trailer, really turn me off. And the title is so incredibly corny I'd be too embarrassed to even buy tickets for it.

I am going to check it out. It looks interesting, just saw the trailer at the movies.

It looked awful to me. Another movie with Angelina Jolie practicing her bad british accent? Ugh.

why is the world of tomorrow, set 50 years in the past?

More like 70-80 years in the past.

I'm interested. It has a cool look to it.
However, why does every "world of tomorrow" feature dirigibles?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
See, the premise is that some semblence of the 1920's is being invaded by the world of tomorrow. The setting, at least the part in the trailer, isn't in the world of tomorrow. Hence the dirigibles and art deco.
