in your home?
By the time you find out that mice/rats are in your house, they've been there for a while. So how do they always find that empty dead space that you never notice? Like underneath the floor or in the wall, some isolated corner in your house, etc.
Do they have radar or sonar or something? They always seem to find "secret" areas in your house that you know very little about. Anyone else notice that?

i think they send out a 'rat patrol' to survey the area...
i believe they have soft bones and can squeeze through very tight areas.

My house is full of glue traps and snap traps... although I'm pretty sure that the only mouse that was in my house was the one that I found dead from the poison.

Speaking of poison for dead mice/rats- when you can't find them, you sure can smell them.

The mouse that was my apartment was in the most obvious place: the cupboard. Fortunately, it was stupid enough to get itself stuck on the glue trap I put next to my ramen noodles (although not stupid enough to put its face in the glue and suffocate itself). Since then, I've crammed steel wool into every teeny space in the cupboard, and my other glue traps have remained empty.

The little bitches climb up a tree, jump onto my roof, go into my attic and climb through the walls.

Vermin always look for the weakness of any armor. Just like terrorists look for holes in our security.

God damn Jerry! I always wanted Tom to catch that son of a bitch. Then Jerry's little nephew moved in too. And Spike had his own home.

we had mice in our apt growing up... my dad killed some with the broom or his foot, others with the traps(peanut butter seems to get them everytime) and then he plugged up all the holes he found with steel wool... and that was that...

They'll eat it if that's the only thing you're offering them, but they seem to prefer grains (like my cheapy ramen noodles) and peanut butter. Just a lil dab'll do it.
