Just 2 weeks ago, Chuck Schumer wanted the US to lift the ban on Canadian beef, stating it was driving the price of beef up to high here and poor families couldn't afford it. When asked about the threat of mad cow he replied that there was no evidence the threat still existed. Now, he wants the US Beef industry to employ an overly expensive tracking system to protect us from tainted food. isn't banning possibly tainted beef the best protection?
