I can think of at least 40 albums I bought this year that are spectacular. But do they have to be totally new? Or released here in America?

That Yellowcard album is a solid pop punk release. More credit should be given to them. And also, I agree that Taking Back Sunday have a great album, but it came out in 2001.

#1 Streetlight Manifesto- Everything Goes Numb
More people should know about them....they are the new NJ Ska "It" band.

i see these words. I know what they all mean. Yet they dont make sense when put together.

i could beat my own head with a stick and it would be a solid release compared to the likes of blink 182 and Sum 41

the list can be composed of whatever you want it to be...it doesn't even have to be 10 total. you can also put other stuff you bought this year, but came out another year...i.e. "American Recordings"-Johnny Cash...

Sorry, Arienette, but I've gotta part ways on this one. Kings of Leon suck. I had the displeasure of sitting through a set of theirs when they were opening for Ben Kweller last year. Kweller had a good set, but between KofL and Adam Green, who also opened, I almost left before the headliner came on.

I couldn't possibly imagine picking 10 new albums this year that I liked. Music is just that terrible right now. I can, however, list 10 old albums that I bought this year because music is just that terrible right now.

The Who--Live at Leeds
The Band--Music from Big Pink
Bruce Springsteen--The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle
Biohazard--Urban Discipline
Flogging Molly--Alive Behind the Green Door
PJ Harvey--To Bring You My Love
Ledbelly--Take this Hammer
Howlin Wolf--His Best
Johnny Thunders and the Hearbreakers--L.A.M.F.
Cracker--Cracker
