UTIs SUCK!!!!

Seriously. It's 3:30am. I'm up. I've been to the bathroom a dozen times since midnight.

I'm hoping I can just "pee" it out (I'm an old pro at this!). Otherwise, I'll have to go to the emergency room tomorrow, since I'm currently 75 miles from my primary care physician.

I can't help it if I'm "prone" to it. My doctor actually scolded me at one point! (Like I'm going out of my way to attain an angry cooter!)

I'm so pissed (no pun intended!).

If you get UTI's all the time, why don't you keep a supply of whatever antibiotic the doctor prescribes handy...next time just pop some when the symptoms arise (keeping in mind to check the expiration date on the med)!!

Last week I got hit with a case of Acute Bacterial Prostatatis. The shakes, fever, having the continual sensation that I have to pee and nothing comes out...it was awful.

So, you have my utmost sympathy. God bless Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

ugh, poor fuzzybutt. uti's are so awful, i absolutely sympathize. i had a big uti mess a few months ago... the pills didnt work, i had to go back and get stronger ones, etc. etc. the doctor told me that you usually can't get rid of them on your own and that you should always just go to the doctor and get the pills.. although it sounds like you're not new to this and know what you're doing.

also, my friend who, like you, is prone to getting uti's said that they are more common amongst short women. i dont know whether doctors let you keep a supply on hand or not, but this friend just calls her doctor and says that she has another uti, and the doctor will call in the prescription without bothering to see her. maybe you could do something like that.

A few months ago I had the most evilest trio in the world...a UTI, a yeast infection and my period.

It doesn't get much worse than that.

you might want to get a cystoscopy if you continually get utis.

when i was a teenager i came down with THREE kidney infections. finally i saw the right doctor and it turned out my kindey ureters were refluxing, causing me to get UTIs constantly, which would then turn into raging kidney infections. I took preventative antibiotics and also had an operation which ended up not working.

be careful! if you don't treat it fast enough, it will turn into a kidney infection and you'll end up in the hospital!

actually it may have been your dirty fingers that gave these girls UTI's. Some girls, like me, only get them when theyre having sex so you have to have clean fingernails and hands boys, and remind your girly if shes prone to go peepee after "the magic" is over. Im sorry huun UTIs are terrible, i get them from sex, you know not peeing right after. I thought a story of someone even less blessed by the pee pee Gods than you at this moment might help. my best friend has a sorta perma-uti. Antibiotics, water, cranberry and stuff havent worked shes tried all the homeopathic methods. Her reg doc cant figure it out. Shes broke and has crappy inclinic only insurance; the specialist she needs only is available twice a month so shes been waiting months to get an appointment. She has to pee all the time. She cant go on car rides longer than 20 minutes unless we stop at a gas station, so she never can go into manhattan or anywhere far. In fact she has to come home from Boston by train which is much more expensive than bus or car. She also cant drink alcohol cause it makes her problem much much worse, which alone sucks, and for a college student, in the chilly Boston?! I wish i could give her some of my insurance!

ugh, gina, that might be the worst things i've heard.

cranberry juice is good as a preventative measure but, from what i was told, once you've got the infection, it's not going to do much to get rid of it (maybe if it's really mild or somsthing). the big thing that the doctor told me, which clare mentioned, is to pee as soon as possible after having sex. i take doctors' instructions maybe a little too literally in general. so, every time i have sex, as soon as he finishes, i'll jump up and run to the bathroom to pee. i know, it's so romantic.

sometime i really feel badly for us being girls.
