i got beautiful new coat with a racoon fur trim,
1. Would it be in bad taste to refer to it as my 'coon coat in the presence of my black friends, or if they ask what kinda fur it is to respond in the same way?
2. This coat was expensive and i love it, but where do they get the racoons that they use for furs? Was this racoon fur thats so soft once matted down with old pasta noodles and ceasar salad dressing? Or are there racoon farms where the best and brigtest racoons are genetically enhanced and raised to be the softest and silkiest.

Back in November, I had purchased my boyfriend a sword for Christmas. I came home late that night with the large package in my hand. I thought I saw my cat, Blackie, on the front stoop, so I bent down to pet her. Turns out it was a racoon. I screamed at the top of my lungs as the coon jumped at me. We were both running in circles on my front lawn. What made it more comical was that I still had the big sword in my arms, and I was screaming, "Please somebody help me!" So finally the coon runs across the street, and I run into my house where my parents are just sitting there watching tv. Apparently they did not hear my frantic cries of distress and totally ignored my dog who was barking at the door. It is good to know that if I am being raped by a coon on my front lawn, no one would come to my rescue.

Curs are better than coonhounds (which are mostly used in the north, apparently), because they don't bark when they scent a raccoon, so they don't scare it away too early. Rather, they sneak up on them and only start to bark after they've chased them up a tree. My uncle gets his from the "hillbillies" (his word not mine) in South Carolina, since folk in PA apparently prefer the coonhound to the mountain cur.

Oh, and "mountain cur" is an actual breed of dog (not AKC I assume since I've never heard of the breed at a dog show) that looks like the pic Katylina posted, not just any old mutt. They can be trained to hunt raccoons but alo coyotes and foxes, etc..
