What's the best LEGAL site to download music?

With all the problems that the record companies are giving people for downloading music, I'm now willing to pay for it. Can anyone suggest an affordable site that gives the biggest library of music to legally download?

the legal sites are crappy. The cheapest one, per song, is rhapsody. you pay like ten a month to get unlimited streamung, but $.79 per song to burn. GAY! and thats the cheapes per song i can find. that still makes most cds roughly $13. Illeagally is the only way to do it.

i bought Kazaa about a month ago. used to have 98se on our 3 home pc's but they only had 8gig hd's. i bought 3 40gig and put XP on all of them(with a little bit of difficulty)

i had to re-download off the net and the 'purchased version' helps with unwanted spam and popups. it also came with "bulldog" viruscan(i think)

i heard that even with the Apple songs or other 'pay per song sites' you buy for 99cents that you are not guaranteed the best quality, not sure if it's true...

figured i'd dig this one up again. kazaa has half way shit the bed. it's flooded with shit versions of songs (probably put out by the record co.'s). ah, it was good while it lasted, but it could never hold a candle to audiogalaxy.

so i'm thinking about going legit, or atleast semi-legit (can anyone pm about newsgroups). itunes sucks balls in selection, rhapsody has good artists, but i'm not sure about songs, and napster seems too cool to tell you what they have.

the one indy store near me marks shit up so much and i don't want to pay shipping for amazon. where the fuck can i get good music?
