Anyone have it?
I watched it the other night (most of it anyway, its close to 4 hours) and thought it was great. The versions of Black and Daughter were fantastic, and they did a great cover of Fortunate Son.
It'll make you feel old though. They are hardly recognizable from the early 90s version of themselves. They're all dressed in normal clothes with regular haircuts. They all have to be pushing 40 by now right?

i got the DVD for Christmas....but they gave me 2 CD 2. so i have to return it to get the first part. My favorite part is on the extras.."Throw Your Arms Around Me".
i also liked how they let the crowd do the beginning of Betterman. I did not like that they had Ben Harper do Indifference....as its one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs.
seeing the short hair was strange. much different then the grunge days. they sure like to drink wine.

I haven't picked it up, but saw them at GSAC a few days before/after and it was a great show.
The first time I heard of Ben Harper was when he opened for PJ at the Garden. I thought he sucked, and I was especially pissed because Mudhoney had been the opening act until the day before I saw them.

I feel much older when I think back to seeing them in concert almost 10 years ago...or seeing the old live footage. They looked absolutely ridiculous. "Grunge" is one thing...PJ went for some kind of bastard "grunge-surf" abomination that's just sheer fashion terror. Good thing they can still pull the rock.

A great band, but with their meltdowns over TicketBastard, making videos and touring, and then some horrific albums... oh well, they did indeed rock out.
I haven't seen it. Any musicians out there know if PJs Bass Player still uses the Hamer 12-string Bass?

Mizz, how can you ssay that? PJ have the greatest video EVAR!
ok, picture this, close up on a spinning record. a hand reaches in from off screen and places the needle on it. Then for the length of the song, you just watch the record spin.

Actually they do have one of the best videos ever. The Todd McFarlane animated video for 'Evolution' is fucking awesome.

Funny you should mention it. I just watched it the other day and am listening to "VS." as I type this. Real interesting set. Surprised there was so much "Riot Act" on it, which is a good thing.
I haven't listened to them in awhile and the DVD has got me back into them again. I was looking at the set lists for the tour last year on thier site (http://www.pearljam.com) and was amazed at how completely different each show was! They played almost every song they have thoughout the course of it! I may have to get some of those bootleg series CD's.
Oh, and as far as "horrid" albums are concerned, the only one that was kinda weak was "No Code"
The rest have been quite good.
Take it easy Clarky

I'm not familiar with this, but if it's real, it sounds like a blatant rip-off of the videos the Replacements did for "Tim".

I'm not familiar with the vids the Replacements did, so I can't say, but the song is about just playing a record.

Check the setlists for the 3 nights in Boston. Over 3 nights, they did every song they prepared for the tour (it took three sets plus a 1 hour acoutic set before the opening act), otherwise the other shows just have some covers they didn't do at Boston. I'm just glad I got to see Eddie sing Hunger Strike live, even if the Slater Kinney bitch mangled the Chris Cornell part.

I finally was able to gt a Pearl Jam ticket today for their two concerts in June at MSG. So much for their fight against ticketmaster huh? Yikes. But it'll be worth it. I haven't seen them (nor heard much of their last handful of albums) since... the second Lollapalooza...?
holy shit.. 15-16 years ago?

Fuck you. That shit sold out in seven minutes.
I fell in love with them in 2000 after seeing them live. There new stuff is amazing. If you need a date I'll be more then happy to caress your beard for tickets.

Got 3 tickets but I got family fellas...sorry.
They are the best live band I've seen. CONSISTENTLY go all out to put on a great show, play great songs (theirs and others)...
AND Ted Leo and the Pharmacists opening! Its my dream ticket, right now anyway. Cant wait for the 26th.

I got shut out three times trying to get tickets for one of these shows.
1. Ten club presale
2. 2nd ten club presale through ticketmaster
3. Through ticketmaster this morning.
A total disaster. I guess stubhub is next. I once sat behind the stage in Philly, and the tickets were not marked up much. I actually really enjoyed sitting there.
