First of all, what is the deal with After Shave? You put it on after shaving and it feels like you are scalding your skin with it. Yeah, it smells nice but it hurts like hell?
And don't give me that "bracing" feeling shit either.

i've been fucking around with shaving things forever...the best thing i can come up with is the following :
use an electric shaver....i use "pre electric" shave gell..it dries on your skin makes your hair easy to cut...then after I put on the Nivea after shave balm...honestly it's not that smelly and it actually fixes up your face..i can't believe it but it honestly is the greatest thing I've ever started using and I recommend it.

Try looking into the gel area of after shaves. My skin gets really red and irritated after shaving, so i was always trying to find something to quell that, recently i found Afta clear for sensitive skin, and it seems to be working well. In the past, i have used different Afta gel after shaves and have never foud them to give any burning of the skin.

Never use the stuff. It's unnecessary.

i always figured it would be a turn off for the ladies; why would you want to splash on some old spice or brute to remind them of their fathers while you make out.

I hop into the shower after I shave, thus avoiding the pain. When I get out, then I put on the aftershave. Its a little time-awkward,but gentler.

I got me one of them electric razors that has the lotion dispenser built in. No fuss, no muss, out the door in minutes.

I never understood the need for aftershave.
It usually gives me a rash, so I just use a gentle lotion on my face/neck after I shave to keep the skin looking good.
Besides, I wear cologne, so why the hell would I want some rank aftershave mixing in with it?

I shower after I shave too. If I put anything on, its a cologne called 4711. I dont believe theres a need for after shave lotion.

Maybe it's self destructive, but that burn hurts so good. Especially on nicks & cuts.

For the nicks and cuts, you definitely need "Nick Relief," which is basically a liquid version of the styptic pencil that your dad used to use. Stops bleeding on contact- great stuff.
After shave is full of alcohol. That's where the sting and burn comes from. The lotions and gels usually have no alcohol, and so sometimes you (mentally) feel like they're not working. (Gilette's burns a little, so I think there may be some alcohol in there.) The lotions usually seem to make it easier to get good shaves down the line.
I tried an electric for a while, but wound up with so many ingrown hairs and bumps and breakouts that I went back to a razor. Now, I love the Mach 3 and the ingrown hairs have basically gone away.

The best way that I've found is to shave while showering!!! Nice, smooth shave!!!! Real close!!! Use a Mach3...never use that aftershave....just a nice manly cologne!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!

It's not censorship because people can't come here and post/say whatever they want in the first place.

I use the new Norelco reflex electric razors during the week bacause it saves me time and the shave is very close to that a blade. I dont shave on Saturday, but on Sunday, I use my Mach3 Turbo or the Quattro.

So does the chairman. You can get it at any department store, Sephora, or better yet, if you frequent your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls they always seem to have a few Zirh products cheap.

gel shaving cream and a mach 3 turbo, no aftershave. I'm not big on wearing perfumes/colognes, so I tend to avoid them.
