I guess this is geared toward the XM fans, but it's also for people thinking about getting satellite radio....

On Feb 1, XM's channel lineup is changing. The new lineup can be found here. (http://www.xmradio.com/lineup/) Four channels are being ditched... one is Special X (30), which I never really listened to. The other three are Spanish stations.... so now I'm trying to win the WLIR fans, because XM is actually DITCHING Spanish music. :) (Not altogether, they're going from 5 stations to 2.)

Even more importantly, XM is going 100% commercial-free on all 68 music channels.

They're also adding 21 channels for local traffic & weather... NY and DC are on that list.

And one of the new channels is punk/hardcore/ska, and that's fuckin cool. The classic alternative channel might be cool too.

Suck on that, Sirius.

It's called Extreme XM. Channel 152.

Yeah, Extreme XM is about it. And that's if your idea of "Hot Talk" is Monsters and Drew Garabo and all the other Florida Real Radio bullshit. I've listened to those guys, and I think they stink.

But remember, I also think it's a BAD idea for O&A or R&F to go to satellite radio withoutbeing sydnicated to actual local radio as well.....

I know, I was just wondering if XM was catering to us. It seems like they're not, considering they have such a crappy lineup for their talk.

Well, Real Radio has tons of fans.... it's just not gonna do anything for us, cause we're used to higher quality. And since there's no one available to provide that high quality until June, Real Radio is the closest thing they've got.

Remember, Monsters and the similar shows are to Florida and Georgia what O&A and R&F were to our area.

Siruis' talk channels ain't much better. At least XM's channel name seems more promising.
