Can you add an out-of-state driver to your policy? Like if I have a NJ policy with Liberty Mutual, can I add my girlfriend's NY license to her policy, or does she have to have a NJ license?

I believe you can only add cars to your policy if they are in your name..

She has to have a NJ license. You're supposed to change your license over once you've moved to the state. I think they give you 3 months to do it.
Also-- the car needs to be registered in NJ also.

There's rarely any good news about NJ insurance.
