Knowing him, he'll just deal with it and *GASP* not sue anyone.

I do dig the show! ;p

Da-DaDa-Da-Da-Da-DaDaDaDa-DaDaDa-DaDa-DaDa!!!

We can all stop; no ones gonna top that on the comedy ziggurat.

---------------

I love the Nuge. He had his days in the sun, selling out the sheds. Still pulls in quite the crowd. And I dig a lot of his philosophy, if he get's a bit overboard in presenting it.

Anyone remember the O+A show where Nuge was on the phone firing off a few from some different hardware??

Anyway; they better get someone better to tag with the Nuge then that Wet Blanket that was up Busey's Ass, on "I'm with Busey"

Should have been called "Busey's In Me"

Anyway; all I got to say is us oldsters remember the Amboy Dukes and Free For All and Motor City Madhouse and even Wango Tango, and the Greatest Song EVER:

WANG DANG SWEET POONTANG

'...I'd like to dedicate this one to all the Nashville Pussy out there...'

and I swear he would just find the most kick ass musicians to back him up even as a solo act; and he shreaded. Basic, 3-4 chord fucking Rock. All on that crazy-ass hollow body.

And I, as a stoner teen, never imagined he was straightedge.

I really enjoyed the first Ted reality show, looking forward to the second. Knowing Nuge, he'll want them to put the chainsaw accident into the show.

Anyone notice how ziggurats and pyramids are at the same basic laititude and the people who created them both used pictographic language and existed at the same time and that Westerly current from across the Atlantic could bring a papyrus ship that emerged through the straights of Gibraltar from the Mediteranian, across the Atlantic directly to the same area where ziggurats were built more than 5,000 years before Columbus?

Comedy Ziggurat

-----

Well lah-dee-dah Mr. Big Word Speaking Guy.

Oh please...

Hasn't anyone else read the book The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe a dozen times? Well, that's ok, the movie kicks ass in my opinion, actually many opinions, but the book goes into so much more detail of the climb the Mercury 7 took before they ever Heard of Project Mercury.

Wolfe uses the word Ziggurat all throughout the book. Constantly. Yep, that stepped pyramid is what Wolfe says, all pilots begin at the base of, and most get up the first step [ground school]; and a few get past soloing [ok most] but then we begin to add the fun stuff, like:

Instrument Rating [you can fly, and land, and take off, blind. Like in Zero visibility weather

Formation Flying -- Flying Props

Trainer Jets -- Flying Jets

Carrier Landings [oh my god you wanna die?]

Night Carrier Landings [in the dark?]

All-weather Carrier Landings [hurricane?]

Engineer [at this point they want you to also know, I mean Know, how these planes work]

Test Pilot etc.

---------------------------------

To make it this far, you left many below: vision problems, flat feet [it happened.] can't do all the math involved, some weird heart blip on an EKG, and also, as Wolfe said, Burning Beyond Recognition when you slam into the earth at 400 mph...

To even be considered, to even show up, to be a Merc Astro you had to, maybe an exception i cant remember, be both a test pilot, and have a degree in engineering.

And the climb began again when hundreds applied to be astronauts, not thousands, after all; how many of us are Engineer Test Pilots? But they had to take 100's to Seven.

And hence, you have, what is still, to this day, the most Exclusive Fraternity of men ever, I'd say even trumping the 12 who walked on the moon: The Mercury 7 Astronaut.

Then to the top: for pilots: Chuck Yeager

For Astronauts: John Glenn

---------------

In short, it's Wolfe's picture of the climb up, and the fear of being "Left Behind" on the Ziggurat. To watch your fellow pilots become living Gods. And there were, and are, people, who consider these guys Living Gods.

Why read it even once if there's a movie?
