Is this going to end up becoming a campaign issue?

U.S. Soldiers' Suicide Rate Is Up in Iraq (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=1&u=/ap/military_suicides)

Is anyone going to bring up that both the two of the worst home grown terrorists in recent years, the Oklahoma City Bomber and the Beltway Sniper, were vets of the first Gulf War?

I have a friend who has been over there, in Iraq and Afghanistan and then back to Iraq again for over a year now, even though it was suppose to be for 9 months - this after a previous long tour of duty - and I'm really concerned about when he finally makes it back.

See I told you "Rambo" was a documentary!

How can it be a campaign issue when the govt. has been ignoring the veterans for years (services for veterans' are usually the first one to get cut). In a perfect world Vets would be better taken care of for serving their country but they usually get the shaft after their usefullness is over.

"Don't ask, don't tell"- War is easy to do, but the after effects are harder to deal with.

(The Ron and Fez show lives.....but in DC) paid for by the RF liberation movement

More soldiers died form DUI's after the first Gulf war then died in combat.

This time also had the highest spousal abuse/ divorce rate in our militarys recorded history.

Some of it is from when theyre gone, some of it is from when they return.

i'm sure most people who join the military "hope" they never have to be involved in war, get an education, travel, and get out. regardless of the training and preparation there will be many who will not be able to deal with war. you would think they would be able to identify and filter these people out and let them perform other duties...

I hear the new term for soldiers is "freedom fodder".
