Sinuses

I woke up this morning with this pain near my jaw, initially I was thinking it was a toothache until I started to investigate further. The most intense part of the pain is coming from my neck, near my chest. I also feel sore need my jaw line but I don't feel any pain in my teeth or mouth. For about the past week now I've been fighting a cold, and the other day it felt like it was coming back, so I'm wondering if this is more of a sinus pain. Does it travel down to the neck? It looks from the direction of the pain that it's in the path of the nasal passages to the chest so that's what has me wondering if either it's a respitory thing or a sinus. I just took a clarinex so I'll see if that does anything.

Check to see if you see any swelling near the area, because it "could" be an abscess (http://health.yahoo.com/health/encyclopedia/001353/0.html) from an infected tooth and could be quite bad if that was it. Check the link I provided for tooth abscess and if it looks anything like that tell Mike to go Fuck himself for a day and get your ass to a doctor.

Yesterday the pain travelled up my neck and made it's way to my jawline. I felt the pain just behind my back mollar. I woke up this morning in so much pain that when I got to work I checked my benefits book and called a dentist in the plan. He took x-rays of my teeth and said the tooth and the area around it seem fine. He did find a bad cavity on the top row of teeth in the same side, he said that may be what's causing the pain, that it may be pushing up against a nerve. He said there's a 50/50 chance I'll need a root canal there.

He did ask if I had a cold recently and I told him I did, he said there's a possbility that what I'm feeling is sinus related and that it could be pushing up against the nerves, he recommended I take Benadryl which I'm doing now.
