I was in the supermarket this past weekend and was going past the bakery area and saw these small waxed paper bags for putting bagels and rolls in that were the perfect size for my side view mirrors. I grabbes a small stack and 2 of them are on my mirrors right now and tomorrow, all I have to do is slide them bad boys of and be part way done with the chore of removing the remainder of the snow. If only they made car sized bags......sigh..

We are becoming a society that looks for excuses, and the snow is the perfect excuse, so the news plays into that. I hear that in Washington DC that people are so terrified of snow that the entire place shuts down if they get a dusting. This snows not too bad, but I was just out shoveling these 2 houses out and it is fucking cold! My hands were hurting so much when I came in, I tried warming them up under warm water and yowch!
But the excuse nature of it and the tendency to suspend normal activities is becoming more apparent and quite frankly, I dont see a down side if we get global warming

why is it people are always at the stores buying shovels like the day before or during a snow storm. We have almost 300,000 troops on the other side of the world fighting every day....and the top story on the 11 O Clock news is "we're here at Home Depot in Fort Lee and they have sold out of shovels " (camera pan to the empty aisle and some loser putting 8 shovels in his orange shopping cart.)
