There are a lot of opinions about this but do you warm your car up before you drive it in weather such as this?

I have a 2003 Honda, that I usually warm up on cold days. This AM it was freezing out & it took my car a few seconds to turn-over, so in weather like this I think all cars need to warm up...

I have a '96 blazer and today was the first time since I got it that I went and warmed it up. The only reason was becuase I was up early making a good lunch. Other than that, I just get in and go.

i have a brand new engine in my car, so i let it warm up a lil longer than i normally would. but, i had a 87 blazer prior, and that fucker took atleast 1/2 hour to warm up. what a shitbox.

won't most cars run like doodoo 'for 5 or 10 minutes' if you just begin to drive it without warming it, especially in this extreme cold? maybe it don't hurt anything but it certainly don't sound or feel too good...

As to the question yay or nay, I'd have to say that no I don't generally warm up my car. I'd have to say this more force of habit than laziness but it could also be that I'm usually in such a hurry to get where I'm going that I don't have time to warm it up. Of course once I get on the road I'm a maniac...but that is because I'm in a hurry, not a bad driver...no not that!

only in the winter,

they say driving your car without warming it up is like rolling out of bed in the morning and then breaking into a full sprint.

When the temp is low, the oil is thicker an thus under greater pressure. Therefore, I dont warm my car up, I just start it and go, and have been doing that since it was new, 300,000 miles ago! I have another new car now and Im doing the same thing. It will warm up as you drive it, within minutes it will be warm. The only time I let it idle when its cold is to allow it to warm up within the car to get the ice off the windows.
