Ok so the Iowa caucus is on monday, but there is also the new hampshire primary coming up which is very important. Whats the difference btwn a caucus and a primary and why are these 2 states so important? i would think that states like NY texas and California would hold precedence

I'm clueless here.
I *think* Iowa and NH, just by chance, and tradition, have historically been the first, hence, they get the attention. Why them? no clue.

This might help. (http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/primaries.htm) i think it explains both.

Alls i'm saying is, if you're gonna be insubordinate you may as well go the full nine, not pussy out when it comes to free shit to drink.
A primary is basically just an election. It works just like regular voting.
I'm not 100% what the caucuses are, but I'll explain as much as I know. In a caucus, you basically have to go to a voting place and stay there all day. Everybody is split up into groups according to who they are voting for. Then they start eliminating groups. The smallest group is eliminated, and then people in that group have to join another candidate's group. That goes on and on until there are two candidates left, and whoever has the biggest group wins, I think. It's VERY stupid.
