Mad TV: HORRIBLE

I admit, I never really gave this show much of a chance. When it FIRST came out, I watched it a couple times, but it just COULDN'T compete with the beloved mid-90's SNL crew, so I never watched it again. But now that it's on Comedy Central, it's hard to miss. I've watched about 3 complete episodes since they brought it over to Comedy Central and it shocks me that this show A) Lasted as long as it has, and B) Even exists.
Mad TV's brand of humor is less clever than a Dice nursery rhyme and is horrifically unfunny. I laughed more at that Nickelodeon show "All That". Mad TV is an atrocity.

i never even watched a whole episode. as soon as i saw the promos, i threw it in the SNL boat. im glad it was the right move.
tv sucks now, thats why i question anyone who watches tv and isnt a sports fan

i was all excited when it first came on.
thought it was going to be somewhat related with the magazine. it's kinda like Halloween 3 in that way i guess.

I'd say the best SNL cast was in the early 90s. around the late 90s it was too much of a cluster F. cast and skit wise

i'll give mad tv one thing. the skit where Kenny Rogers doing a "Jackass" episode was one of the funniest things i've seen ever.

The first couple of years the show was great.

I've been trying to get into the Comedy Central reruns, but they have been playing newer shows and they blow.

UGH.

MadTV is absolutely horrific. I cant stand any of the cast on that show and theyre writers are just not funny.

I thought Comedy Central was gonna be showing both MadTV and SNL but there's no SNL anymore and E! never shows SNL either. I'm going insane. SNL repeats were one of my favorite things on TV.

good show .... i always enjoyed 'amost live' out of seattle and 'vacant lot' ....

mad tv is just god awful and not funny .... the real sin is that it's an hour, maybe if they trimmed it down to a half hour -- it wouldn't be as painful (i doubt it, but can't hurt)

I was good in the begining but it gotten really horrible since the original cast left, both mad tv and snl should just be taken off the air, both are not funny any more.

P.S. The frumpy chick who does all the charcters that aren't funny (the chinese mumble woman, etc.) is Alex Borstein, who did most of the female voices for Family Guy.

Granted, that still doesnt make Mad TV funny.

And Alex Borstein is not only in the going to be abyssmal Catwoman movie, but says she has a script she wrote for a movie version of the annying chinese lady. I smell another "It's Pat!"


And the animations in the first year or two are hilarious. Rudolph, Sex Toy Story, etc.

Alex Borstein is very funny. Granted the chinese lady has run its course, but she is a fantastic character actress. They did a parody of Gilmore Girls that was hysterical.
