View Full Version : my dog died
My best little friend and the greatest dog in the world had to be put to sleep today b/c his body was riddled with cancer. I can't believe he's gone. I brought him up from a little puppy. He was my greatest companion and now he's gone. he was 10 years old.

I'm sorry for your loss.
An orange kitten with no collar showed up at my house one day about twelve years ago. He just hopped through an open window and became my cat. He died of cancer a few months ago too. We did everything we could.
Maybe go to the shelter in a few days?

I'm sorry for your loss, man. It's always hard losing a pet that you've had for a while. I feel for you.
The dog I had since before I was born we had put to sleep in august due to back problems and she could no longer walk. It's a really hard thing to do, and my kitchen is really empty now.

Sorry for your loss. My ten year old pitbull had a nuerological disorder and wobbled and shook and fell down all the time. He was almost like the human torso in that movie freaks. He just kind of slithered around like a snake at the end. He was happy as could be untill the end. It broke my f'n heart when he was put to sleep.
A few months later I had my mixed black lab Molly liquidated becuase she was insolent. She trapped my wife in a room and went after her. I couldn't have that in my house with a 2 month old baby around. That really sucked having to drive her to the pound. She was completely oblivious as to what was about to happen to her. She walked right in like she owned the place.
Dogs are a very important part of your life if you own one. They love you unconditionally. They greet you when you come home. They're always happy to see you and they like just hangin with ya.
Sorry to ramble on. I'm sure they're running around up there together sniffin each others butts having a grand old time in that big park in the sky.
I'm really so sorry to hear this. My dog, Sammy Pajamas, was hit by car a couple of years ago. It was an awful time. My thoughts are with you.
I hope you have support from friends..especially those who love pets. I found that people - even acquaintances - seemed a little more understanding if they owned a dog or cat.
For a while after Sammy died, my cat, Gavin, kept waiting for him to ' come home'...She looked out the window; ran to a door if it opened.
Take care.

Man, I feel your pain.
I don't know what I would do without my pooch. Hell, let me be honest - I love him more than I love MOST members of my family.

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. Losing an animal is in fact losing a loved one, part of your family.
Always know that now he is not in pain, and now he can do whatever he wants, whenever. A lot of people dont believe in an afterlife, especially animals going into an afterlife of sorts, but I feel animals are the closest thing to god on earth, so innocent and and forgiving. You buddy is in a better place now, and he knows how much you love him. Right now he's probably taking a crap on THE nicest front lawn up there...............
It will take a while, but the feeling of loss and pain wont be there forever.

That has to be one of the saddest things I have read on this thread so far....
You buddy is in a better place now, and he knows how much you love him. Right now he's probably taking a crap on THE nicest front lawn up there...............
And that is the most enlightned thing I have read in a while. (AND funny..)
I tend to agree with Gaia, I know when I die my baby will be waiting for me...wagging her butt like crazy! (she was a black cocker spaniel with a snipped tail...when she was happy or excited her whole rear-end would wag....I called her Waggle Butt)

My family does the same thing. The only thing I found funny is that when we took our dog to the vet to get her cremated, we had to wait for the ashes to be delivered back to the vet before we could pick them up! Thank goodness the ashes didn't get lost in the mail.

Really sorry to hear about your loss. I too have lost 2 dogs in three years. 2 Golden Retrievers. 1 was older and we expected it soon. The other one was only 2 and that one really hurt. If I may suggest checking out this site. It made me bawl, but helped alot in the long run.http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm
