Wow, I could have sworn he died at least a few years ago.
Maybe that was Mr. Greenjeans instead.

Sorry to hear that.
I'm surprised the topic wasn't titled "Captain Kangraroo DEAD!"

Damn, he was only 76 ?? I thought he was a old man when I used to watch him as a kid back in the 60's.........anyway, it's a shame, cause he seemed like a genuine caring person who loved to entertain.

I always liked when the ping pong balls would fall on the moose, and to this day, I still kinda wish that would happen to me at some random moment.

He was the first entry in my best thread (after the Guinness Bar towel giveaway) (http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/Forum/73/Topic/8708/page/Who_was_the_most_famous_grad_from_your_HS_.htm)

I actually liked him better then Mr. Rodgers! The Captain's show was alot more fun. I keep forgetting the name of the Moose puppet on his show.
He is another person who is getting the express train ride to heaven. No Stops.
We all lost a good man today.

Bowie, Md.: Berkeley, I'm so glad you're back!; I've really missed The Far Side all these years.
Berkeley Breathed: Yes, thank you, but I don't draw Far Side. I draw Calvin and Hobbes.

Yeaaaa that's it! I wonder if his Jacket and Mr. Moose will be in the TV hall of fame?
And wasn't there someone who took the reigns from Keeshan like 10 years ago or something?
Is that "New" Capt. Kangaroo still on?

AYE, AYE.
He was another of the few who seemed to care and who you never heard a bad thing about. RIP.

I can't believe he was only 76. I watched him many years ago and thought he was ancient then. Rest in peace, Captain.....C'ya!!!

I thought the same thing. It was Mr. Greenjeans who died previsously. Wow, I just looked it up and he died waaay back in '87! Where do the years go?

OK, I may be slow, but I can tell the goddamn difference between Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo.
I'm still convinced he died at least five years ago.

At least I'm not the only one who has that fantasy.
I always loved Bunny Rabbit.

Nope. The Banana Splits was a completely different show.
