View Full Version : Scion cars
Sure, they look kinda boxy, but I'm into that. (http://www.scion.com/)
Supposedly, they're some new brand of car made by Toyota. They're hip, young, and urban... just like me! 30+ miles to the gallon.
Whatcha think.. thumb up or thumb down?

i don't like boxy cars, but at least it's closer to my price range.

looks sharp!
liked the Alure Pearl and the Black Sand Pearl...
a quality auto maker to boot...
One thing i've heard 'if it's a new model' is to not buy it the first year it's out. Supposedly it takes a year for them to work some of the bugs out!
It's one of them "they say" but nobody knows who 'they' is...

Eh, it's alright. There aren't alot of cars that really stand out and look cool anymore. Occasionally one will pop up, but most of the time they're the super high priced ones

It's really great to see an automaker take a chance and offer a "new" brand. The cars are hip, and reflect the target demo's interests. When I was in Japan, I saw tons of cars like the xB roaming the country's narrow streets and always hoped to see them in the states. Scion knows that prospective buyers are into the import scene, but want something other than a Honda Civic or a Mitsubishi Lancer. The fact that the Scions all fall into the sub-$20,000 category make them perfect for the intended 18-29 demographic. Plus, the parent company is Toyota, a major player that takes build quality seriously. http://www.a-r.ru/new_site/year2002/n07/news/800/Scion-1.jpg

the car looks like a shopping car, but wil probably debut in the top 3 of the gayest cars of the year.

I checked them out when I bought my Toyota, it had alot of room for a smallish car, and they have a few models other than the picture. The one on the picture looked a little like a hurse, and they had them with a ground effect package but to me it looked like a van that had 4 flats. Its pretty cheap, like 14K and if its motor is made by Toyota, it should last quite a while.

The whole car is basically from Toyota's Japan factory (unlike the U.S. Market Toyotas that are built in the MidWest). So it definately will last at least 150k miles and have a great warranty.
