Dramarama is one of the best rock & roll bands I have ever listened to.
They never got the recognition they deserve.
They just reuntied on VH-1 's bands reunited.
That episode replays at 4pm today AND 10 pm tonight.
The band is from Jersey but had quite a cult following here in DC.
They were jamming "alternative" rock before it was cool and mainstream.
Simple 3 chord rock with catchy hooks and raw melodies.
They are probably my biggest influence when it comes to my own music.
Songs like " last cigarette" and "Anything Anything"
still sound like they could of been recorded yesterday...not 20 years ago.
Buckcherry covered "anything anything" and A tribute album is in the works.
Great band.

Yeah, well no one really understands
why my shopping cart is full of cans
and a top had, and a snare drum, and a horn.
And a poster and a magazine
with my picture and some magic beans
and a blanket that I got when I was born.

Didn't know that, actually.
Just the only Dramarama song I know.
It was either played on the radio down here or I saw the video on Alternative nation in the early 90s.

anything anything got a shitload of airplay here in NY a lil over 10 years ago. I miss radio 10 years ago when there was so much variation across the dial.

Dramarama have also been on tour for about a month now.

oh shit what a name drop; but John Easedale has been driven to and from and interviewed about and brought on stage by this ex-DJ.

Long story short: Easedale and Dramarama loved Matt Pinfield and WHTG FM 1063. I worked there; taking over Matt's 'Local Licks' show for a year. So; i've seen them about 20 times live; including reviewing and DJ-ing the very last Dramarama show; at the Stone Pony. Got a shitload of pics.

Cosmic Circus is indeed correct about this band. Easedale was doing radio out of Cali to be with his kids, but man he used to be here in NJ so often...

Me and Easedale on my site, which I think, is down...
