This is a pretty good article about John Edwards. Every time I listen to that man, I feel

like he's trying to sell me something that doesn't work. God help this country if he ever

gets elected.

The title is "The Truth About Sen. John Edwards

Link: http://politicallyright.com/article165.htm

Quote: "I must give Senator John Edwards his due: the man is a phenomenal public speaker. He

could have been a sideshow huckster, or a salesman of 80 proof Indian elixirs in dry

counties.

For instance, he once claimed to channel the spirit of a child. 'I feel her, I feel her

presence,' he said in a malpractice lawsuit on behalf of Jennifer Campbell. 'She's inside me

and she's talking to you. And this is what she says to you. She says, I don't ask for your

pity. What I ask for is your strength. And I don't ask for your sympathy, but I do ask for

your courage.'" Your Code Goes Here Your Code Goes Here http://politicallyright.com

That was the stupidest thing I have ever read in my life. I thought there'd be some actual research into some of Edwards lawsuits, but the only thing that could be possibly contrued as research is that one quote.

The rest is base acussations against lawyers in general. The writer speaks of lawsuits destroying the tobacco companies, but does it say that Edwards was ever involved in a lawsuit against a tobacco comapny? Has he? I don't know, and this dumb writer doesn't seem to know either.

And then it gets into personal attack mode. He just barely won his Senate seat? He won, didn't didn't he? That was his first time running for Senate. He didn't send flowers to a dead former co-worker? Boo-frickin-hoo.

And then the writer allows us to be graced with the opinion of Rick Santorum? RICK SANTORUM?!?!? I'd be more interested in what my feces has to say.

I want the time it took me to read that crap and the time it took me to write this response back.

Probably something corny.

One thing I like about Edwards is he suckers in the Republicans on their "trial lawyers" rant.

I can just see him catching all the criticism, and then calling up on stage and sitting in his lap some poor child with MS whose medical coverage was cut off.

Then Edwards says: "They're for the big corporations who cut off this poor child's health insurance.
I've been fighting for the child.
(camera zooms in on the kid's face)
Edwards: "Whose side are you on?

I think Edwards should start wearing seersucker suits and adopt a Matlock-like persona. That'll dissuade criticism of his trial lawyer background.

That's how he won a Senate seat in North Carolina of all places. Everytime Republicans brought up the Trial lawyer thing, he started talking about individual cases.

Of course, North Carolina hates him now. He probably wouldn't be re-elected.

Edwards' run leaves polls cold (http://www.news-record.com/election/edwards/jepoll07.htm)

It's an old article, but I've heard it said that if Edwards didn't run for President and tried to run for his Senate seat, he'd likely lose. His favorable rating here was only 37%. Things might have changed after Iowa, but if he wins the nomination he will have to fight hard for his home state, just like Gore.

I guess hate was too strong a word.
