Continuing from here (http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/Forum/71/Topic/36186/currentpage/2/page/redirect.htm#bottom) with a better title...

The grid (http://hstrial-gschwarz.homestead.com/SBgrid.html)

The rules, as previously posed by powerdump5000:

New Players- The long, official version of the rules is on the first page of this thread but here's the short version to get you started:

* Game is free to play and open to all members of ronfez.net in good standing.

* Pick two numbers from the game board (link below) and post them in this thread.

* Numbers are handed out on a first come, first served basis so you may want to check the thread to make sure the numbers you want are available since I only get to update the game board about once a day.

* If someone beat you to a number, you will be asked to pick another number.

* Check this thread after the Super Bowl to see if you won a prize.

* Prizes are:

- for Halftime Score - RF.net softball jersey courtesy of JustJon

- for Final Score - $20 e-certificate to amazon.com courtesy of me.

Good luck to all and thanks to those who are already in for playing.

And for those who don't know how a Superbowl Grid works, here's the cliff notes:

there's a grid with 10 numbers across the top (New England), 10 down the side (Carolina), in random order. At half time, take the last digit of each score and check if the numbers corrospond with your box, if they did, you win. Same for the end of the game.

i.e. if the halftime score is Carolina 17, New England 14. You find 7 on the left side for Carolina's score and 4 across the top for NE's score. If the box where the two meet has your name in it, you win.

And Dreamweaver was the only one after the last update: Put me in for 7 and 32

Anyone else wants in, post below.

Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal. These are principles, which every man of every faith can embrace. These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost. There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain. But if you do you, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will reap it.

Still room for a few more players.

PanterA - 75 is taken so pick another number please.

If you don't pick another number, you only get the one box, even if there's only one number left. I've made everyone post their own selections so that's why I have to do it this way. Also, someone could ask for the number if the game is still open.

When the grid fills up or after the game closes at 3 o'clock this afternoon, which ever comes first.

what prizes?
At halftime, there will be a winner of an RF.Net Jersey from last summer's softball games. Winner can have name/number added for free from the Sports Section in Cedar Grove, NJ.

At the end of the game, there will be a $20 gift certificate to amazon.com donated by powerdump5000 for the winner.

JohneeCash, pick 64, 89, 81 or 83

Let me explain. You pick 2 numbers i have listed above. These are the only numbers left to choose from. After the next person choooses of of said numbers, there will then be but 2 numbers remaining to choose from. At that point a 2nd person shall choose the last 2 numbers. As this 2nd person arives in the thread he will learn that he, by default, will have no option but to choose the final 2 remaining choices available. The numbers will be either 64/89, 64/81, 64/83, 89/81, 89/83 or 81/83. 4 of these choices will be eliminated after the 1st person following this post makes his selection.

Sorry. We've said all along to check both the grid and the thread to see if your numbers are available since the grid can't be updated constantly. FUNKMAN got 75 about 5 posts ahead of you.

As for the 3 unclaimed boxes, I had 3 people who needed to pick 5 numbers and I'm not sure what's the fairest way to do it, either to divide them up evenly or hand them out to whomever asked first. This is why I've asked people to make their own selections under their own screen names and why I won't pick numbers for people.

You got the boxes numbered 38 and 41. The numbers along the top and side correspond to the second digit of each team's score. Carolina's second digit was 0, New England's was 4. The intersection of these two lines was Crippler's box.

hey man, I do this every year and its just the people that are at wherever i am...so its hard to fill up 100 boxes at 10 or 20 bucks each so we usually do 2 bucks per box. I bought 10 boxes myself....there were only a total of like 15 people on the board....its really just for fun so that's the story there. It works for us.

BTW, the quarters were 25, 50, 25, 100

Well, umm, thanks to everyone for playing.

Special thanks to Tall James for the idea, to Patches for his thread which got hijacked and to Just Jon for letting me do this and putting up a prize.

It works for us.
This could work too. It would have been much easier to do with cash. As long as you get the cash for the box, that's all that matters but to try and limit it to two boxes per person, to people you can't see, on a grid that can't be updated immediately, well, everyone saw what happened.

If someone wants to try this again next year, maybe a 25 box grid with one box per person is the way to go. Less numbers, fewer people, much easier. Like I said, it could work. It just needs a little tuning.
