Since the word hate keeps circulating around tonight, its only fitting to hate this stuff. Its been around and played out on network TV for years now. Time to start creatively programming again. Something anything. Just try again. Aighhht.

See Ya!

i'm sick of the spirit behind them, where regular people so desperately want their 15 minutes. its not like a game show where regular folks pop in, pop out, and do it for the money/prizes. these reality tools want to show us their godawful personalities, and what soulless people most of them are.

but they draw audiences, and it makes our world go 'round. so meh.

I still am pissed that the Networks won't approve my idea for a reality/game show-

Then maybe you can come up with another dollar for another reality show that I'm working on for the WB where I take little people and make them live in a fun, wacky and unconventional little house- I call it......

Reality TV sucks. In the beginning it was ok but now every network has to have a dozen of their own reality shows. Theres way too many and they all suck.

It won't disappear until it stops getting ratings. Every time the American public's interest in reality shows starts to wane, so new reality juggernaut like Joe Millionare or the Bachelor will pop up, and the networks see that it continues to work. Add to that the fact that, compared to sitcoms and one-hour dramas, the production costs are low.

I'm really tired of it as well, but it's not as if the rest of network TV is so great either.

I don't know why it's called 'reality' TV, where it has little or nothing to do with reality.

Ron called 'Punked' simply another name for Candid Camera and if there was ever a Reality Show, that was it.

A Real Survivor? Two Tribes, no food; just drop them there until one radios in that they win, they record it all themselves on their own cameras; if a few die, hey, it's reality.

for the most part I can't stand "reality" TV. But I'm a sucker for shows like Joe Schmo (which was awesome), The Real World (San Diego has been great so far), and Newlyweds (Jessica just makes me laugh).

I don't but I would like the option of watching some TV once in awhile. I'm tired of feeling exiled from TV outside of sports and Adult Swim. I don't mind game shows and the like,I grew up watching those shows. Its just the oversaturation is unbearable and they really just don't have much quality to them.

See Ya!

Its shows like Average Joe which although started out as a genuine idea, but now they are just humiliating to average joes. Pushing the notion that looks are everything is bad TV. Just as the notion that money is everything as Joe Millionare did.

Is this even worth arguing about? People bitch about the minutae of everyday life all the time on this board. It has absolutely nothing to do with what's going on in the rest of their lives. If you don't like posts where people bitch about things, don't read them.

I watched an episode of American Idol for the first time this past Tuesday (I was at the girlfriend's, she had the remote, that is how it transpired)... Anyway, if anything I took from that show was the fact the kids trying out were so arrogant and all about themselves. I think it magnifies a disturbing trend that I have seen more and more these days with kids.

I could not believe the plethoria of talentless teens that flocked to the auditions who were absolutley shocked and appalled that they were not picked. Yes, it makes great TV and makes you laugh and cringe, but those kids live in someone's neighborhood and sit next to someone's kid in school and there is no way in hell I would want my child associated with morons such as them.

It seemed to me that these kids, that threw tantrums when rejected, were not told anything but that they were wonderful. Yes, every person's child is special in some way, but c'mon! I loved it when Randy Jackson said, "If you suck, you suck."

This reality check for them should be a reality check for parents and hopefull participants alike.

Just watching them curse out the judges, even throw water on them - who the hell raised these kids and who the fuck do they think they are?

If anything, besides another pop singer, I hope people realize that the spoiling of kids and hunger for fame can really create a whole new breed of assholes.
