Can I use a Mac monitor on my PC?

I have a pc and yesterday someone gave me a mint condition imac monitor but I'm told I won't be able to use it. Are there adapters? If not, I'd like to sell it, rather than having it sit around here collecting dust. Anyone know how much one of these things might go for? I'm considering putting it on ebay if I find out someone might actually want to buy it. I'm not finding the info I'm looking for online.

Yes, there is a converter they make for the cable the runs from the back of the monitor to the computer. On mac's the connection is wider than the serial connection for the pc. In a number of computer stores they sell converters that you plug into the cable and on the other side is the connection that will fit into the back of the pc.

If the cable connection is the same size it should work with no problems. You might want to see if Apple's website has drivers for the monitor for use on a pc as well.

Yeah, like Reef said you're going to need an adapter to convert the monitor plug to VGA.

It's 17" and in nice shape. I'm gonna call some places today about an adapter.

...but right now it's my new computer chair. At dinner time, I might eat my Cocoa Puffs out of it.

I think an adapter should run you about $10, since it's an older mac monitor. but if it's a dvi (newer) one, it could run as high as $30. of course, I can't see the monitor to know for sure.
