I love discussing hypothetical ethical quandries.
While I would not commit suicide to save the life of one person, (except for my wife or kids) I would not hesitate if doing so saved the lives of many.
While it's true that of necessity we create our own reality, and that there is no way to quantify an objective reality, if indeed such exists, a single individual can only value his life above the many, if his view of the universe is completely egocentric. To such a person, the lives of others are irrelevant as they exist merely to serve him. Quite a serious psychosis.
