I was on it for about 9 months.

The bad part: I didn't get a good night's sleep in those 9 months and went off of it when I started having lucid dreams - the early stages of sleep psychosis.

The good parts of it: It was like a second puberty. Like when I was 15 and too embarassed to enjoy it, I would get wood from just looking at a hot chick. I was the envy of all my buddies.

It was like chrystal meth lite. It changed my personality in a way that was fun at first, but wasn't me anymore. It was supposed to just take away the depression, but it ended up turning me into Disco Stu. Believe it or not, that got old.

Drinking went out of control. I'm sure I'm an alcoholic anyway, but on that shit I didn't care about anything and I was Super Wino! Doctors don't emphasize that enough: don't drink on that stuff. I've heard from alot of people that have had the same problem with booze on prozac.

My take on these drugs is that you have to find the right one and the right dosage for your own chemistry. If it doesn't do what it's supposed to, or the side effects are too much then go back to the doctor, ween yourself off the drug slowly, and try a different one. And, work on your life, (counceling), so you're not depending so much on pills.

Truthfully, everyone has different reactions.. side effects. One that seems to be pretty constant is weight gain. So watch for that... but other than that it is extremely safe when used properly.

No Prozac here, but Celexa, Effexor, Wellbutrin and Lithium. None of them did a damn thing except make me sick to my stomach all the time.

So I quit them all and just got used to being miserable.

Prozac for a year on and off, Trazadone for the nighttime. It didn't last mainly for the reasons Yerdaddy has previously stated(save for the boner part). Once i went off of it my dreams were overly lucid, id wake up spooked and thinking that they had really happened. While i was in school i starting reffering to a dream i had had the night before, 100% convinced it has ACTUALLY happened.


Shitty times.
