Well Wonderboy was playing the heel tonight... Maybe I should have put this in the wrestling thread. Wonderboy put down everyone associated with the show except for Ron and Fez. The worst was when he was picking on little Linea (sp).

Wonderboy you don't pull on Supermans cape.
You don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the hat of the old Lone Ranger and you don't mess around with a poor innocent little girl.

The rest of us know it is a gag, but you don't pick on a little girl, and then the 2 next callers after me who have lost people near a dear to them was definitely out of line. Some people may not know it was a joke.

I haven't been a long time listener, but I have grown to truly dislike this SOB. I can't believe I felt sorry for him when he busted out his window. I can't believe he wanted everyone to feel sorry for him, and he can't even show a tiny bit of compassion for a caller who is CRYING that she just lost her dad. He then called him a corpse. From now on, when I hear Wonderboy's voice, I will change the channel. Gag or no, this guy is a huge loser. He makes listening to the show unenjoyable.

Well, since my thread god locked (big shock that the one who isn't a mod gets the lock! HA!), I'm going to cut and paste what I wrote there, here...

Well...that was interesting...did anyone else have their feelings hurt this evening?

haha

Ok...how seriously should anyone take Wonderboy's laundry list of opinions on everyone?

Did things go too far with those last two calls from listeners?

I was certain I was going to get by without a mention, but obviously one of you maniacs IMed Ron asking him to ask about me - only reinforced my belief that I shouldn't mix my entertainment with my real life.

Well...at least I was in good company.

my guess was 'Hanger On'

Oh well. That was funny as hell.

However, I can see peeps being upset with the callers who recently lost family members. That's not gonna win a lot of fans. Calling the ladies father who had just died a 'corpse'? Ouch. That's gonna come back.

I was "dorky."

I was all fine and dandy with the bit.. although telling Lenay she's "not smart" was over the line, I think. The last two callers were definitely over the line. True, that girl probably won't really care when WB's dad dies, but you at least should show some courtesy. There are times when it's better to leave one's personal philosophies on death unsaid.

Great bit, it worked of course, we're in here talking about it at length. This was a character like Randy, that queer sounding fake caller / guest he always appeared as.

WB's normally non confrontational, tonight he was the heel, like Jafter said. This reminds me of when Sid was in there talking trash to Terror. Tonight was even better, I was laughing nonstop and on the edge of my seat. That and the comedy pyramid, great show.

To those mentioned, please consider yourselves honored and friends of Ron & Fez.

Was there any huge difference between Ron and Fez making fun of Lenay and Wonderboy doing it tonight?

I mean, the poor guy, he gets tooled on every night and tonight he got to do another bit.

They came to him pretty quickly, but then at the end (before going after those last two callers) he also tears down his girlfriend and Wendell, so who knows. It did become like "Ron and Fez and the 27 Dwarves." Chatty, Dorky, Slutty, Overbearing...I think I was "nosey," and I want to get too close which is just not fair.

I like to pretend I know everything going on behind the scenes, but I don't know shit, and for the most part I really don't care - it's just fun to speculate.

And as far as wanting to be too close...niggah please. Anyone who has actually met and talked w/ me knows how reluctant I am/was to going to the station in the first place, going on the air, interacting, etc.

"Hey! You got your entertainment in my real life."

I suppose. I was finally mentioned at the end, tucked between Yerrdaddy and Jafter, I believe - the whole time I was going back and forth between wanting to be menitoned, and not wanting to be mentioned.

In the end it's pretty cool, considering what an insignificant relationship I've had with the show compared to the rest of you - to be included.

I was thinking that at the next live event we can all have "My Name Is..." stickers, and write them on there, just so we know!

You could hear the wheels turning in Ron's head as this thing started. It was a real derailment of the show - I was digging the movie talk - and Ron just seemed to get control of it real quick, and turned it into classic radio. To WB's credit, he knew where he should take it, and went.

Aside from us on the message board, though, and the more regular listeners, I do wonder how it played to people not familiar with anyone here - people who may listen for 20 minutes a night, on their way to here or there; people who don't know the difference between a Crazy Jen and a Halloween Goddess.

As a lowly random listener and not a member of the Ron & Fez Attention-Whore Corps, I thought that it was a great bit. If it wasn't a bit, so much the better. Too many hangers-on involved in the show too often just serves to drag down the show.

Ron, Fez, a Producer or two, an occasional phone call and in-studio bit with some of the camp-followers and a random chat with an intern during the week is plenty, in addition to listener call-ins.

That was very sweet, Cherry! Big ups to you and Perry - thanks!

Not the first time I've been called a historian, either! haha!

ahem.

This was something they should have done the next day on the air, since WB's big on air defense was that this isn't the only thing he thinks about everyone, that no one should take it personally because a lot of those mentioned he said he liked, but simply the first thing (so the first thing for everyone is negative??! - yeah, smells like a bit! haha). Like I said: should have followed it up the next day with a "first positive" thing about everyone.

But...I'm sure they moved on. Maybe as a treat, they can tack this on the the end of the wonderboy segment(s) when they rerun this for best of one day.

NOW...I want someone to do a parody song for Fez to the tune of the Subway "Clay Henry" spot, since they were talking about how he walks around with that in his head.

"Fez Whatley! Fez Whatley!

He's a zoloaf man of medium size..."

I don't know why, but when I got on the air with them, suddenly I becamse Alec Baldwin in the NPR skit he use to do on "Saturday Night Live" ("Schwetty Balls") - the only consolation is I noticed another regular listerner/caller does the same thing (I'm not going to out him, especially in his own forum...ahem...!) Oh and I've been meaning to say, ADF? Rhyming is for dorks.

That's me. Ron messed up my line, anyway.

"I'd like to introduce Cherrynoid to my two friends, Rhyme Scheme and Rhythm"

came out as..

"I'd like to introduce Cherrynoid to my two friends, Rhyme, Scheme, and Reason."

That's three things and it doesn't even make sense.

You've got a GREAT voice, especially on radio.

I have heard a few people say that I should speak more when I'm there. But I'm very cautious about stepping on their toes, or breaking up their banter or the flow of the show, so I have a tendancy to stay in the background and just giggle at Ron.

Is my voice easily recognizable? Just curious.....

She's not branded when the prophets speak words of fire.

That's what I thought you meant, but I liked that Ron accidentally (?) made you sound like an idiot who couldn't even insult me properly. ;)

Now, when can I get an incredible ADF sig pic since I immortalized your abilities in song?

Is my voice easily recognizable? Just curious.....

Yes, very. And you don't sound any more like a man than I do.

While I'm talking about my song yet again, let me apologize to the people who didn't get a lyric. There were a few of you I just didn't know enough about to think of anything nice to say. I did try to work something in about Gary Wyze being the funniest bachelor at Dave & Busters last Fall, but I couldn't fit it in anywhere.

Next up... an Ode to Iris, done to In A Gadda Da Vida!
