It is a type of mushroom that is native to France. They are also a type of chocolate--usually a chocolate filled with fudge, or mousse. It gets its name because it resembles a truffle.

The French like wine. Is wine shit? They're also huge fans of American movies and music. Ok, you got me there.

Dogs are preferred to pigs for finding them because they won't eat them when they find them. White truffles are the best, mm mmm mmmm!

Truffles can be extremely expensive. And they can only be grown in certain parts of France, and nowhere else in the world (or at least I think). That's probably why they are so pricey.

White truffles CAN'T be grown, period, as far as I know. They are only found in the wild, which is why they're so expensive.
Black truffles on the other hand can and are cultivated. They're not nearly as tasty as white ones though.
