This is from the other thread, since "The Man" here has forced all discussion of Howie here.

The TV media played that awful scream clip too much.

Please. The scream was just the nail in the coffin, but the Dean candidacy was dead long before the polls even closed in Iowa.

He was always the ideological choice for liberals / Democrats, but the problem is that most voters aren't ideological. Couple that with very real concerns over his competency and his demeanor, and people realized that he was clearly not the man they want leading the nation. The scream did nothing more than reinforce what people already believed about Dean.

It's kind of a shame he isn't going to be the Democratic nominee - it would have been fun watching Bush slaughter him in the national election.
