<a href="http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_2663360,00.html">Here is the story </a>
"It was obvious Katie was not very good," Barnett said Tuesday. "She was awful. You know what guys do? They respect your ability. You can be 90 years old, but if you can go out and play, they'll respect you. Katie was not only a girl, she was terrible. OK? There's no other way to say it."

I saw the coach's interview on TV this morning and couldn't believe what he was saying. They had the CU president on, as well, and she at least remarked that he was saying things that he probably oughtn't have been saying. Gee, you think?

I don't really give a shit whether the chick was a actually raped or if she's makig the story up or whatever, necessarily (I don't mean that I don't care but I don't care if the media covers it or not is what I mean), but I am just astounded by the sheer idiocy of this coach - whether the allegations are true or not, you just don't say shit like that when you and your program are under such close scrutiny - essentially he's saying "she was a sucky kicker so she deserved what she got"

I guess good players are in the starting line-up, bad players get raped at UofC.

His comments are so ridiculous, it almost seems like he was answering different questions or commenting on different topics than those being discussed. What the hell does being a good or bad football player have to do with being sexually assaulted by teammates?

What's the protocall at CU...make the game winning FG & have your pick of any guy on the campus, but miss an extra point & you'll spend halftime on your knees in the lockerroom? What an asshole.

i disliked this guy when he was at northwestern. and then when i saw this quote on tv tonight, i couldn'y believe how stupid he must be to think that making that statement could in anyway help the situation or explain why this has occured.

It's amazing how much misogyny there is in sports. On the rare occasion that a woman can compete in a male sport, she should be applauded and encouraged, not molested and abused. People are so resistant to change that it's mind-boggling.

I saw it on the news last night; the president of the university really dug into him about it. I hope its not all talk, and there is some disciplinary action.

You've got it all wrong. In order to find yourself in the starting lineup, you must first be a rapist. The rape victims, however, must ride the pine.
