I'm not sure whether god exists or not. Maybe there's something out there; I don't don't believe it's any of the anthropomorphic gods of organized religion.

As to the stupidity of religion; agreed. But us humans are a stupid lot, and we do stupid things. Faith has given some hope and a sense of the availability of the quiality of redemption. Now, some would argue that Faith and Hope are illogical, and I would agree. But I have faith in some things, and hope for some things, knowing it is all illogical, but keeping it.

I try not to be such a dipshit when it comes to stuff like this. I had a major improvement when i cut my hair short, I actually smiled but died very quick once I went out with this psycho chick who was overly obsessed with me.

I found out today that people do like me, which I can hardly believe. I'm "funny" in their opinion and it seems that more girls are beginning to like me as a friend because they talk to me about whats going on in their lives and I listen.

Example: A girl I knew at work had problems at home and came in one day crying. Turns out her mom pretty much kicked her out of the car and left her to walk to work. I walked up to her gave her a tissue and said "Things are going to be ok" and said if she wanted to talk about it that my door was always open. While I ate dinner she came in and told me everything that had happened. I think God was created because the people were scared of war and stuff. A Godless society is frightening and to make it less scary there is God... I don't know about the meaning of life but I do know about the meaning of religion.

The Bible actually began as a book of Jezus, not of God. The real bible is much bigger and older. One of the oldest and most reliable was found in Qumran, they were called the dead sea scrolls. In those scrolls is the bible as it was once written, a biografie of Jezus. The God section was added in the middle ages by the first pope, to control the people and to make them believe in the power of god. The result was: the first crusade. They killed men in the name of God and stuff but the only one to gain something by it was the pope.

<p>Question for the god believers - do you know massive and infinite the universe is?&nbsp; Have you done any reading on just how scary large the whole thing is?&nbsp; If you can grasp that concept then read on.</p><font size="2"><p><font size="1">OK - our astronimers have discovered 100s of extra-solar planets since the early 90's. None of them are able to sustain life as we know it, but given that we do know that there are planets around other stars than our own. Now, this is just what we know of our glaxay, which contains billions of stars - and we also know that there are billions of galaxys. I believe it is sufficent to say that there are planets capable to support life as we know it somewhere out there. I'm not talking about advanced alien races - just life.</font></p><p><font size="1">Now, wouldn't it be logical to say that some of that life is intelligent. Maybe even a humanoid race such as ourselfs.</font></p><p><font size="1">If god created life here - it would be right to say he created it there. </font></p><p><font size="1">Would he have done on that planet what you believe he did here - send his son to die for their sins?</font> </p></font>
