Someone got the bright idea today to let John Edwards come to Prince George's Community College here in MD(where I go to school...aka "Largo High School's 13th grade") and speak. What chaos! I don't know what other word to describe it. Dopes in business suits, guys in tie dye with weird mustaches, scary old ladies, schmoes with TV cameras, strange Hispanic men holding signs that said "Down With both Parties...Viva la Revolucion"...
I was planning on actually going to see him talk,just for the remote possiblity i might get on TV but there was just this viscous mass of people, like 4-500 all crammed in this tiny little room, that i really didn't feel like dealing with all the shoving, screaming, and eventually dealing with the rank odors sure to be emitted in such a small space...so i said "forget it" and just went home...Edwards was supposed to speak at 1:00, but on the drive home around 130, i heard he had still not shown up yet...maybe it was good i didn't stay..
There was a really nice looking chick handing out fliers for Edwards, and she was just getting ripped a new one by this gigantic black guy who was ranting and raving something about Sharpton. I mean this guy was like inches from her face and just screaming his head off. I felt bad for her so i went up and talked to her for a little bit, she was really nice to talk to. She asked if i was gonna stay, and I declined...but i wish i couldve thought of something better to say than "I don't think they want guys like me up there..."
